Bettas are so friendly, impressive to look at, enough to playtime with them, and majestic sea creatures. But this is all possible if you or any owner knows their ideal environment need or the best temperature for betta.

Giving them the necessities of life and increasing their living standard will make them happy and definitely increase their lifespan. Just like us, this fish tends to get bored or ill. No doubt, they are among the favorites for fish keepers.

But learning and doing so in transferring their journey from a cup to a tank must be done with great care and patience. If made correctly and with care, this transfer can lead their lifespan of 2 to 3 years to almost 5 years. Which is enormous for these cute little fishes. Who doesn't want them to stick a bit longer than usual? Everyone does.

Lifespan

Their lifespan is said to be around 2 to 3 years. They can live up to 4 years of maximum in the best possible shape and health figures. Their lifespan depends on so many factors, such as:

l   Their quality of food.

l   Their care-taking method.

l   Water temperature.

l   Water flow ( current of water ).

l   Their environment.

l   And the space they need to live ( swim ) freely.

All these, when combined, can significantly impact them in a positive way to their lifespan, adding some extra years to their life. They require low maintenance to be petted. But do not confuse this low maintenance as essential maintenance and ignore everything in between.

The main goal is to transfer the betta from a cup or a jar to the actual aquarium ( tank ). This will reduce a fish's stress level and unhappiness, leading it towards happiness without any stress.

This is because they need space at least 5 or 10 gallons of water in a tank to live freely. They are not suitable for congested areas, and when they get stressed, they can quickly die. Sending betta from a cup to a tank without having the proper mean of the environment, such as water quality and pH level, is just a shock to them.

Because this is a change in environment for them, as little as it seems or looks, it matters a lot to them.

Transferring

l   Betta will always be swimming actively in a shop, notice how their behavior changes when you approach them.

l   You should at least know a betta from a distance; an aggressive betta is healthy and large.

l   The fins are intact and are not clamped.

l   Buy a fish as you please.

l   Make sure to acclimate the betta before hovering it into a new tank.

l   Slowly drop it from a cup into your tank, ensuring it will not fall away.

l   Monitor your betta for a while just in case it shows any distress.

l   It is the best approach and easy for you if the betta has its tank by default.
